Avum, Inc. Successfully Completes Reconstruction of Canon U.S.A.'s Printer Group Site.

MALIBU, CA, November 2, 2002 -- Avum, Inc., a leading provider of global enterprise solutions, announced today that it has completed a reconstruction of the Printer Group (PISG) website of Canon USA, Inc., a Fortune 100 Company. By converting the externally-hosted static PISG site to a dynamic site hosted internally, Avum, Inc. has helped Canon, U.S.A., Inc. consolidate its outsourcing and supported platforms as well as provide its customers with up-to-date product information, technical support and downloads.

Avum, Inc. leveraged its skills in Oracle 11i Apps, Oracle 9i Database, Interwoven Teamsite, Oracle 9i Application Server, JSP Development, and Java Development to complete the PISG site conversion under budget and on schedule. Canon, U.S.A, Inc.'s PISG group (Lake Success, NY) includes printers, scanners, multifunction and copiers.

Avum, Inc. converted the site a static page to a dynamic one by utilizing Java Server Pages and Java Beans, and it is now hosted on the internal Canon server farm, which uses Sun Solaris, Oracle Cache Servers, Oracle 9i Database and Oracle 9i AS. Avum, Inc. also leveraged Kana Technologies to integrate the consumer website into the existing Canon Call Center and Automated Help Desk.

"I think our on-time launch surprised a few East Coast development sources who didn't think we could complete the project in our proposed time frame," says John Martyniak, Chief Technology Officer of Avum, Inc. And we ended up exceeding Canon U.S.A.'s expectations."

In developing the architecture for its solution, Avum, Inc. interfaced with business users to collect requirements, and then used those requirements to create in-depth test cases to generate user acceptance criteria. Martyniak adds, "Our extensive global enterprise experience allowed us to create sound, comprehensive project plans, and then assemble and manage a team that could execute those plans quickly and successfully."
