Corporate Enterprise Resource Planning System
The Problem
AVUM was commissioned to develop a new corporate Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) System which would offer order management,
procurement, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) as well
as integrate with the pre-existing applications such as
the internal financial and supply chain. The goal
of the project was to provide our client the ability to
overcome competitors in the race to reduce supply chain
cycle time and costs, as well as provide maximum flexibility
to accommodate the rapidly growing company.
The AVUM Solution
At the completion of the project in 1997, our client permanently
switched off their legacy mainframe system. Since
then, AVUM's Enterprise Integration server and the deployed
ERP system have served as the basis of their business, enabling
the client to build a billion dollar division.
Our applied solution included:
- Highly experienced group of solution architects which
designed all system components
- Strong project management with a skill for unifying
the team's talents to maximum efficiency
- AVUM Enterprise Integration Server - used to manage
all system interfaces (People Soft Financials, Warehouse
Management, EDI, Procurement, Order Management, etc.)
- Apple WebObjects & Enterprise Object Frameworks
(EOF), formerly NeXTSTEP/OPENSTEP
- Oracle Enterprise Server
